It seems that social media is endless. The more I discover, the more I realise I haven’t even scraped the surface.
I came across a blog post by Kevin Dugan today titled The Art of Strategic Neglect.
Dugan explains strategic neglect as knowing that there is typically more work to be done than there is time and energy to do it.
‘[It is] just as important to know what to neglect as it is to know what to do. Prioritize your projects, focus on the most important item and neglect those less important items until they become a priority. You will be more effective.’
I’m not saying I’m giving up on trying to understand social media, but perhaps practicing the art of strategic neglect will ensure i take it one step at a time rather than trying to take in everything at once, resulting in nothing but further confusion.
